New Mexico Feminist Art Pioneers: Charlene Teters

Ms. Teters has served as a lightning rod for change that has led to progress in the United States and Canada. In Central America her words and thoughts are inspiring Indian peoples involved in their own struggles for human rights. A founding Board Member of the National Coalition on Racism in Sports and the Media, an artist, activist and lecturer. She challenges the inappropriate use of American Indian images, culture and spiritual life by schools, scholars, museums, corporations, and media.
