Kolbert has traveled from Alaska to Greenland to get to the heart of the debate over global warming. She has been a staff writer for The New Yorker since 1999 and has written dozens of pieces including profiles on Senator Hillary Clinton. Her book, Field Notes from a Catastrophe: Man, Nature and Climate Change will be discussed with the interviewer, Sam Howe Verhovek, a former New York Times correspondent, who has covered the Middle East and China, and who is currently working on a book on aviation.
