Elizabeth Kolbert at the Lensic - May 7

Kolbert has traveled from Alaska to Greenland to get to the heart of the debate over global warming. She has been a staff writer for The New Yorker since 1999 and has written dozens of pieces including profiles on Senator Hillary Clinton. Her book, Field Notes from a Catastrophe: Man, Nature and Climate Change will be discussed with the interviewer, Sam Howe Verhovek, a former New York Times correspondent, who has covered the Middle East and China, and who is currently working on a book on aviation.

On Wednesday, May 7 at 7:00 pm at the Lensic Performing Arts Center, the Lannan Foundation, www.lannan.org (Garcia Street Books is the bookseller at the Lannan "Readings and Conversations"), presents author, Elizabeth Kolbert, with Sam Howe Verhovek, as part of this ongoing series.
