A book signing and tea tasting will occur at Garcia Street Books on Saturday, May 24 at 3:00 pm to celebrate the publication of The Spirit of Tea, by local publisher, Sherman Asher Publishing. The author, Frank Hadley Murphy, who was born in Boston and now lives in Santa Fe, will discuss the mystical attributes of tea and attempt to answer what it is that keeps us coming back to humanity's favorite beverage.
He will feature the six classical categories of tea, White, Yellow, Green, Oolong, Black (or Red in China), and Puerh, as well as explore the heretofore unknown vistas of tea. Murphy, a graduate of the American Tea Masters Association's tea mastership program has recently lectured nationally for the Santa Fe Opera in conjunction with its premiere of Tea: Miracle of the Soul. He is the owner of Jade Mountain Tea Co. in Santa Fe.
