La Familia Medical Center is Santa Fe’s community health center serving Santa Fe since 1972. We provide comprehensive medical care to everyone, with special emphasis on the uninsured. All services are offered in English and Spanish.

La Familia Medical Center is a community health center providing high quality comprehensive medical, dental, and health education services to everyone, with special emphasis on the under served. These services are affordable and culturally sensitive and are delivered in a manner respectful of patient’s privacy, rights, and dignity, regardless of their financial resources.

- 425,000 people who live in New Mexico do not have health insurance.
- La Familia serves 16,000 patients a year- almost 20% of our population in Santa Fe.

Health Education & Community Outreach
Our staff of community health advisors (Promotoras) provide education and support in such areas as prenatal care, diabetes control, asthma, immunization, and breast and cervical cancer screening.
Behavioral Health
La Familia has integrated behavioral health with primary care in the clinical setting. The primary-care provider and the behavioral health counselor work together to provide intervention, treatment, and follow-up care to patients.
Medical Services
La Familia Medical Center provides comprehensive medical care and 24-hour emergency on-call coverage. We provide inpatient care at St. Vincent Regional Medical Center.
Our physicians are certified by the American Board of Family Practice and our nurse practitioners are certified in family practice nursing. Family practice providers care for the entire family and are trained in all areas of medicine, including obstetrics, pediatrics, teen care, adult care, and women’s health.
Dental Services
La Familia Medical Center provides quality dental care for patients of all ages. Our dentists provide diagnosis, treatment, and management of our patients’ oral health needs.
In addition to examinations of teeth and gums, application of fillings, fittings for dentures and extractions, we believe in the importance of prevention. Our dental hygienists provide cleaning, application of sealants, and patient education. We also perform screenings for school children and community education.
Financial Arrangements
An important part of the mission of La Familia Medical Center is to provide primary healthcare services to anyone, regardless of their financialresources. We offer a sliding fee scale, which takes into consideration family size and income. In addition patients can apply for support from the Santa Fe County Healthcare Assistance Fund, as well as for support from a variety of government programs.
La Familia receives support from many sources, including United Way of Santa Fe, New Mexico Department of Health-Rural Primary Health Care Act, City of Santa Fe, Santa Fe County, Maternal & Child Council, Santa Fe County Healthcare Assistance Fund, and the Federal government.
