June is a month of much planetary activity. Meteor showers will be seen in the sky, the Summer Solstice occurs, Mercury turns direct and Venus rises with the Sun on June 9th and officially leaves its position as the Morning Star. Venus has been hidden by the Sun’s rays and will not be visible until July 16th, when it rises as the Evening Star. These dates—June 9th and July 16th—are important ones. The Babylonians and Mesoamericans such as the Maya, considered Venus’ last setting before and first appearance as Morning or Evening Star as a marker for world events. More detail on this is given in the weekend report.
Pluto goes back into Sagittarius June 13th, giving us one last chance this year to change how we deal with issues such as differing belief systems and foreign cultures. There has been a growing acceptance of these differences, realizing that we are all human beings with the same needs. The Internet and films are helping to get that message out. The sign of the explorer and expansion, Sagittarius can expand and open our minds to explore new possibilities to improve our society. This is the sign which represents HOPE rather than giving up. Pluto is the agent for regeneration and change. This is a global experience and the process continues through the end of November when Pluto finally leaves Sagittarius.
This week we have maximum Gemini power! A New Moon on the 3rd at 13 degrees Gemini joins the Sun, Venus and Mercury in the sign. The urge to communicate and facilitate communication comes to center stage and words become important. How can you express yourself and communicate? Do you have the freedom to send a message out to the world? Do you feel like you are understood by the people in your life? These are all Gemini issues. On Saturday Mercury is strong and beneficial as it makes a conjunction with the Sun. Adding to that is a Moon in Leo which is a combination that screams out express yourself!
Monday, June 2
Chiron conjunct North Node in Aquarius
Moon enters Gemini
Prepare for a New Moon on Tuesday and finish things up today rather than beginning something new. If there is an old issue that is still unresolved this is an excellent time to bring it to completion, especially around old wounds between yourself and others. Relinquish the hold it has had on you. Clear the way for a New Moon tomorrow and plant a new seed or intention. There is an opportunity to alter the course of our lives (or not). It could bring an awakening.
The Moon enters Gemini at 4:06 pm. A change in the situation could be felt, and it may require some adjustment. This may not be easy or comfortable. Communication is the key; rather than just reacting, make an effort to speak what is on your mind.
Tuesday, June 3
New Moon in Gemini
This is the second of 5 SuperMoons occurring this year, when the Moon is at its closest proximity to the Earth. This means that the gravitational pull is stronger, affecting the earth’s crust and generating stronger tides and weather patterns. Our emotions are strongly affected by this Moon as well, which can pull things up to the surface. It could pressure you to get to the bottom of your frustration. There is a combination of Moon, Sun, Mercury and Venus all joined together today in Gemini. This emphasis on communication is assisted by a sextile from Mars, which could give you courage to speak up. Negatively, it could create a scenario for a successful military operation or create an unstable situation.
Wednesday, June 4
Sun sextile Mars
Mars sesquisquare Pluto
Moon enters Cancer
You could feel more sensitive and emotional today. Situations that involve manipulation or power and control could arise this afternoon, but you have the confidence and courage to tackle it. People could play word games to get what they want. Factions within groups or some unexpected changes in your program or policy are possible. Cooperative efforts could experience a shake up or division. Put yourself in a stronger position and eliminate manipulative people who put you in compromising situations. The key is to cooperate for the good of the whole, and keep your reservations to yourself.
Thursday, June 5
Venus sextile Mars
There is increased sensitivity to loved ones and friends. You can feel more yourself or self-assured and get along better with your friends. Creative activities are favored. If you become involved in some activity with others, you can attract the people you want to attract. You may desire to work on a creative or financial idea instead. Creativity is stimulated into action. You may want to beautify your surroundings
Friday, June 6
Moon enters Leo
Creative energy and warm feelings towards friends continues. Interchange of ideas and conversations are lively. Make some time for yourself later today, after 4pm. Enjoy doing what you like and being who you are without feeling guilty.
Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8
Sun conjunct Mercury
Sun and Venus conjunct at 19 degrees Gemini
Mercury sextile Mars
Saturday the mercurial energy is strong
There is a lot of movement, travel, or running errands and getting things done. Present yourself or your ideas with confidence. If someone tries to talk you into something, you will handle it well, taking a stand on your own perspective.
Venus is leaving her role as the Morning Star. Venus and the Sun “kiss” on Sunday. These two bodies catch up with each other and on Monday rise together as the Venus Star. Venus will not be visible until July 16th when she is seen as the Evening Star. At that time, she merges with the Sun for three days and 37 days later becomes visible. The ancients said that Venus spends 40 days in the Underworld and then emerges. She is considered a dual goddess: Venus’s personality as Morning Star is very different from that of Evening Star. As the Morning Star she is fierce, powerful and the goddess of war and discord. The Aztecs went to war when Venus rose as the Morning Star. As the Evening Star, Venus is older, wiser and less emotionally volatile. The theme is one of concessions and meeting to resolve differences. The needs of the world take priority over individual will. Let’s hope this brings a shift in world politics, and in the electoral candidates’ attitudes towards their opponents. We need to co-operate—rather than attack—and find common ground.
