Two-time Grammy winner and New Mexican, Robert Mirabal, will appear this weekend on a special edition of the television program, "New Mexico Southwest Sounds." The 30 minute show, produced by Governor Richardson's New Mexico Music Commission, will be broadcast Saturday, June 7th at 1:00 PM on KOAT-TV.
The show also includes Grammy winning producer and musician Larry Mitchell, as well as Native American rock musicians Levi and the Plateros.
The live performances were taped during the worlds largest Native American Powwow - The Gathering of Nations. Dressed in colorful attire, more than 500 tribes from the United States and Canada attended the event in Albuquerque, New Mexico April 25- 26th at University Arena.
Viewers of "New Mexico Southwest Sounds" will not only hear the talented Grammy award winning musicians, but see the beautiful sights and sounds from the Gathering of Nations as well as scenic video from the Land of Enchantment. In addition to professional photographers, film students from the New Mexico State University Grants Media program also participated in the production.
