Earth and Sky: June 23 - 29

June 23 – 29th

Santafe.com was launched on January 1st this year. That week in my column I mentioned that the Moon’s Nodes had just entered Leo and Aquarius. These are a good indicator of the general feelings of the people. The cycle changes every 18 months, showing collective shifts in how we are feeling about our world. There is a quality of fate or destiny associated with the Nodes. Messages or messengers can bring important information this year, awakening people to new perspectives.

This year we feel the effects of a struggle between the Leo (North Node) and Aquarius (South Node). Briefly, the North Node represents an area of limitation. It is now in Leo, the sign concerned with our individual personal life. The South Node is the area of growth and development. Now in Aquarius, our feelings are shifting as we become more concerned with community and humanity in general. Moving away from strictly personal concerns (Leo), and towards the direction of healthy growth we become more aware of Aquarian concerns. This is the sign of the humanitarian, when a person begins to see oneself as part of a larger community. The subjective view gives way to an objective view. Our feelings are reflecting this change throughout 2008 through summer of 2009.

On Thursday, the planet Uranus changes direction and goes retrograde. Now all the outer planets—Uranus, Neptune and Pluto—are retrograde until September. These planets affect the global economy and socio-political climate, stirring up issues that must be addressed.

In your personal life take practical steps now to feel more secure physically, mentally and spiritually. Give yourself a time frame from now through September to do this. Listen and pay attention to those intuitive insights that suddenly come into your mind. They are important.

Monday, June 23 and Tuesday, June 24

Moon enters Pisces

Sun sextile Saturn

Monday morning you may feel a need for freedom to follow up on your own ideas. By midday a shift can be felt as your emotions get more sensitive.

Tuesday is a good day for getting things done. Your ability to focus and pay attention to details is enhanced Tuesday and Wednesday. It is a particularly good time to use your imagination and put it to work.

Wednesday, June 25

The morning starts out a bit erratic and moods can change quickly. You may be bored with the ordinary and want “something different.” After lunch your desire for change puts you on a different track, or you find circumstances suddenly change. Stay flexible.

Thursday, June 26

Uranus turns retrograde

The Aries Moon moves into its Last Quarter phase and sets the stage as Uranus changes direction today. Something shifts….

Discontent could surface or pressure to change or reform old patterns. Break the mold.

Uranus began its seven year journey through Pisces in March 2003. Uranus shatters old paradigms and Pisces breaks down barriers. Uranus is the planet of science and technology and it is in Pisces, the sign of no boundaries. An example of this dynamic duo is the recent discovery in the field of quantum physics. In its subatomic quest, the Supercollider has been invented and became operational this year. Who can imagine what new subatomic particles will be found as they smash the atom with ever more force?

Pisces is the sign corresponding to film and movies. Recently, using the technology of the Internet, the increase of YouTube movies and documentaries are breaking down barriers between countries and cultures. We are being exposed to information and stories of real people all over the globe, affecting us deeply and emotionally.

Friday, June 27

You may feel more courage and confidence along with an inner excitement. This can cause you to act on your desires. This evening spend time with someone you really care about.

Saturday, June 28 and Sunday, June 29

Moon enters Taurus

Mars trine Pluto

Sun conjoins Ceres

There are strong feelings around taking care of the earth, sustainable living, food and security. The issue of feeding the people predominates. Stimulating energy is on tap for discussing ideas and good, lively conversation. Put your ideas into action. Get in touch with someone or something you are devoted or dedicated to. Find out what you want to change and work on those changes. It is a good time to make reforms in your life, or lay the framework for them now.
