Painter Dale C. Peché was born November 28, 1928 in Long Beach, California. Known internationally for his work, Peché paintings reside in permanent collections in the Vatican, Rome; Glendale Federal Savings & Loan, California; McCleary-Cummings’ Artists of America collection; and in private collections in the United States and abroad.
Upon completion of a four-year tour with the United States Army in 1948, Peché attended Art Center College of Design from 1948 – 1952. While there he studied painting with renowned instructors Feitelson, Reckless and Tyler. He was awarded a Bachelor of Professional Arts in 1952.
Subesquently, Peché began his professional career in the field of graphic design. He has more than 40 years’ experience as both a graphic designer and art director, and has received more than 60 awards for his work. Among them are the Industrial Graphics International Award in Los Angeles, the New York Art Directors Show Award and the Los Angeles Art Directors Show Award.
As a Fine Artist, Peché’s paintings include subjects of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Northern California, San Francisco, New England, Europe and Great Britain. He has had 12 one-man exhibitions at the Challis Galleries in Laguna Beach and seven one-man exhibitions at the Conacher Galleries in San Francisco. Peché was represented from 1998 to 2002 by Mountain Trails Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico; Park City, Utah; and Jackson, Wyoming and until 2006 by Chris Payne’s Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Currently, he is represented by Nussbaumer Fine Art Gallery in Santa Fe.
Peché’s paintings have appeared in national and international juried shows, including the Summer Exhibit, Royal Academy of Arts in London; Annual Exhibition of the Allied Artists of America in New York; the National Watercolor Society exhibition in Los Angeles; West Coast American Realists; Chaffey College Museum in Alta Loma, California; National Academy of Design in New York; Palos Verdes Art Museum in California; Traditional Artist 8th Annual Show in San Bernardino, California; Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio; Springfield (Massachusetts) Art League; Grand Galleria in Seattle; Cooperstown (New York) Annual National Art Exhibition; and the Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin, Ireland.
Peché memberships have included the National Watercolor Society in Los Angeles and the Allied Artists of America in New York. He is a lifetime Fellow of the Royal Academy of Arts in London. He’s listed in Who’s Who in the West, Who’s Who in Art, and Who’s Who in the World.
