Earth and Sky: March 31 - April 6

A strong feeling pervades this week of a deep need to be nurtured, cared for and cared about. Having to provide for our everyday needs and basic physical security has taken much of our daily focus, and a need to be heard and share information is added to it. What now becomes important is to share or talk while others listen, and opening up to another’s perspective by being good listeners ourselves. Our determination can be used to nurture what we want to grow and take root in our life, rather than forcing our will upon situations. This shifts the focus from what we lack, to opening up to possibilities. In these times of sweeping changes to our way of life, working together with those who share a common ideal can provide a goal and a sense of hope.

The dwarf planet Eris is working overtime to create strife and confusion. She is the goddess of disharmony and chaos. We are challenged to find our center. She also is one who defrauds others, and that topic is big news lately. The other side of Eris loves healthy competition which encourages us to work even harder at what we do and what we want. This is an important time to check in with ourselves and get a focus of what we personally want in life. What is truly important to you? When you find the answer then you have your center of focus, which gives a sense of clarity and purpose.

April begins this week and we begin thinking of our gardens and the earth. There is a New Moon on the 5th. It encourages us to take the time to stop and tune in to our inner self, listen carefully, then set an intention for the next two weeks according to the information you received.

Monday, March 31

Moon enter Aquarius

Feelings can be rebellious and you may want to break out of a rut today. This morning circumstances may dictate that you adjust your emotional need to do your own thing. Responsibilities or authorities may have the upper hand and may provoke you into contradicting them. You may have an idea that has you becoming almost fanatical. This can be felt through Thursday. If you can hold yourself in check, constructive contributions in the field of research or innovative ideas could lead to change.

Tuesday, April 1

Pluto stations retrograde

Pluto will be slowing down and stopping as it prepares to turn direction and back up. It goes retrograde tomorrow, but we feel the intensity of its energy over us today. This dwarf planet’s role is to create global change and regeneration. Pluto retrograde is a time to slow down and take a good look at those changes that have been occurring. We are being challenged to accept the duality of our world. Peace and violence occur simultaneously, as well as different perspectives and ideas. How do we live with these ongoing contrasts?

Pluto will go back into Sagittarius as it retrogrades. It has been in Sagittarius since 1995, bringing issues of religion, beliefs, and cultural differences to the forefront in an intense way. Pluto brings about fundamental change. We are still undergoing an expansion of awareness during these difficult times and need to make necessary changes. Pluto is now finishing up its lessons with these matters. In November it finally leaves Sagittarius and enters Capricorn, where it will stay until 2024.

Wednesday, April 2

Pluto in Capricorn turns retrograde
Mercury enters Aries
Mercury squares Pluto
Moon enters Pisces

Yesterday and today are days when powerful energies are felt by all of us. Pluto changes direction at 3:23 early this morning along with a Moon/Neptune conjunction. There is a period of confusion until 2:55 pm when the Moon enters Pisces. A Pisces Moon is not known for its rationality, but it can be inspired! Mercury moves into the sign of Aries just before noon today.

As you can see, much is changing with new energies coming in today. Pluto has turned retrograde until September 9th, when it turns direct again. Since Pluto focuses upon regenerating something that is worn out, during these next 5 months we are asked to retrace our steps and discover what has been overlooked in the areas that need to be fundamentally changed or transformed. Re-examine and confront what is in dire need of rehabilitation. Re-evaluate your rights and values vs. those of others. Look honestly and realistically at what has reached a limitation in your life and concentrate on what can be transformed. If it cannot be changed, then it is time to let it go. Something new wants to be born.

Mercury represents our thoughts and way of communicating. Now that it is in fiery Aries, communication could be sharp, quick and to the point. It is excellent for making quick decisions, or you could react too hastily. Someone may be pushy or insistent. A slip of the tongue could let out hidden feelings. Mercury in a fire sign can get you to stand up for what you believe. Ideas or intuitive insights are put into words. Put these incredible insights to constructive use.

Thursday, April 3

Mercury quincunx Saturn
Mercury square Pluto
Moon trine Mars

These energies give way to either flying off the handle or seriously making some idea work for you. Absolute focus and determination along with success in your endeavor is possible. This works regardless of the intention. Use this opportunity to implement what you really desire today.

Friday, April 4

Ceres square Saturn
Moon enters Aries

Family issues concerning obligations, responsibility for children or aging parents could have you feeling constrained. The government system or your job challenges your ability to get basic needs met. You may feel like you have to carry a greater load. After 6:30 pm, when the Moon enters Aries, speak out and ask for what you need instead of sacrificing. Aries pushes you to stand up for yourself.

Saturday and Sunday, April 5 and 6

New Moon in Aries
Venus enters Aries
Venus square Pluto

The New Moon forms at 9:55 pm in Aries on Saturday. This starts a new intention or desire for the next two weeks, and you will want freedom to put it into motion. You can easily get enthusiastic and excited about something or quickly lose your temper.

Venus moves into impulsive Aries today. Your feelings and relationships are more self-focused and you’re less likely to sacrifice now. There is a bluntness or directness with Aries. Passion is now brought into your relationships, or frustration. Venus in this sign likes to keep its options open and likes variety.

Venus and Pluto have you examining your relationships or finances. Changes here cannot be ignored. Get to the heart of the matter. Accept what needs to be changed in order for it to grow and remain healthy. You may find that what was once important to you changes. The world economy is also challenged to make major changes.

Sunday the Moon is void-of-course all day until 7:19 pm, when it moves into Taurus. During this time it is better to work on things that have already been started, rather than beginning something new.

Your sense of worth may receive an impact today. Things feel unsettled somehow. Another person or outside situation could be a concern and you may feel tired of it or unappreciated. Endeavor to resolve the situation and keep on trying. Don’t give up, eventually it will be resolved but in a different way than before.
