When I was growing up in Santa Fe, and the town was half its current size, I remember my father telling me there were probably more dogs living here than people. After all, dogs are smart and have good taste. They’re also easier to communicate with. St. Francis of Assisi would have been proud of the way we look after and love our dogs.
