'The Student Art Tee Shirt and Student Art Poster will debut at the second annual ZozoFest to be held on August 23, 2014 at Sanbusco Market & Railyard'
The Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe, caretakers of the annual Will Shuster's Burning of Zozobra are excited to announce the winners of the student artist contest for the official 2014 child tee-shirt and child poster. Images were chosen from over 513 entries.
First Place Entry "ZOZO" by Isaiah Duty
Club President Amado Abeyta said, "We are excited to receive so much fantastic Zozobra art from Santa Fe's talented students. This just proves how much Santa Fe and the children of Santa Fe love Zozobra."
City Councilors Patti Bushee, Bill Dimas, Signe I. Lindell and Ronald Trujillo with Gilbert A. Romero, President of the Santa Fe Fiesta Council, Fiesta Council members, Don Diego de Vargas Thomas Baca Gutierrez, members of the royal court with many community and business leaders and enthusiasts of Zozobra made up the judging team. Brad and Julia Furry of Furry's Buick GMC in Santa Fe held an art supply drive for the Student Art Contest.
1st Place Winner Isaiah Duty, 4th Grade
The winner of this year's 1st place image had a choice to have his image on either the Child poster or the Child tee shirt. Isaiah Duty a fourth grade student at Santo Nino School, who submitted the first place entry, chose to have his image as the 2014 Official Zozobra Child Tee Shirt.
His image is titled "Zozo". Isaiah's excited and proud mother Benigna Sanchez-Duty said, "Isaiah could not be happier, he has been drawing Zozobras since he could hold a pen."
Second place in the Student Art Contest was won by Bobby Gallegos a fourth grade student at Kearny Elementary School. Bobby titled his image "The Burning". "The Burning" will be reproduced as the 2014 official Student Art Poster.

The Student Art Tee Shirt and Student Art Poster will debut at the second annual ZozoFest to be held on August 23, 2014 at Sanbusco Market & Railyard where both the Student Art Tee-Shirt and Student Art Poster will be sold. Profits from sales of Zozobra merchandise benefits scholarships and grants given by Kiwanis to benefit the children and youth of Santa Fe.
