2025 Bowl for Kids’ Sake: Big Brothers Big Sisters Fundraiser
Bowl for Kids Sake featured 2025 Flyer.

Each year, thousands of people across the country hit the lanes for Bowl for Kids’ Sake (BFKS) — a high-energy, fun-filled event that fuels the Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) mission of creating brighter futures for kids.

It’s bowling with a purpose, where every pin knocked down helps lift a child up! It’s a simple and meaningful way to give back — just a little effort can go a long way in helping sustain their mentoring programs.

What is Bowl for Kids Sake?

BFKS is more than just a fundraiser—it’s a movement. As the largest annual fundraising campaign for BBBS Mountain Region, it unites local businesses, community members, and organizations to raise essential funds that match kids with life-changing mentors. This year,  Toyota of Santa Fe is proud to be a sponsor, standing alongside others who believe in the power of mentorship.

BBBS depends on the funds that are raised at BFKS to carefully match kids with supportive adult mentors and provide continued guidance to build lasting, positive connections. The donations made to BFKS go directly to BBBS mentoring programs. Children in the BBBS program tend to show higher aspirations, increased confidence, stronger relationships, a tendency to avoid risky behavior, and they have greater success in school.

This year’s event theme is “Children’s Storybooks.” Starting with you, every dollar raised helps create a happier ending for kids in our community. Join BBBS for the GREATEST STORY EVER BOWLED! While it’s not mandatory, team members are encouraged to wear a costume while participating. After all, it’s a fun event!

BBBS Mountain Region serves the Santa Fe area and 10 other counties throughout New Mexico, and you can help by joining a team or donating to fundraising participants.

How does BFKS Work?

  1. Form a team: Team captains recruit four others willing to bowl for kids sake. Your family, co-workers, and friends are great places to start getting your team together.
  2. Register for a bowling session: Several sessions are available at Santa Fe-area bowling alleys and at locations in Taos, Española, and Gallup.
  3. Line up donations: Each teammate is asked to raise $100, for a team total of $500. Ask friends, family, and co-workers to chip in and let them know that 100 percent of the money raised goes directly to helping children who are mentored by BBBS in their local community. This effort rallies support for BBBS and their important cause.
  4. Go bowling! On the day of your local BFKS event, head to the bowling alley and have fun! Shoes and balls are included and participants receive an event T-shirt. Don’t forget to wear a storybook costume if you’d like!
  5. Party! The bowling events are a celebration of your support with lots of food, drinks, prizes, and fun! It’s BBBS’ way of showing their appreciation.

No bowling skills are needed — just a willingness to bowl, raise money, and say thanks to BBBS for helping make a difference in the community. Participants also raise awareness of the BBBS program and — who knows? — maybe someone new will join BBBS and become an adult volunteer (a Big) who helps a child (a Little).

If bowling isn’t your thing, you can donate directly to BBBS. Go to the BFKS website and click the Donate tab.

What is BBBS?

For close to 120 years, BBBS has upheld the belief that every child has the potential to succeed and flourish. As the largest mentoring network in the country supported by donors and volunteers, the organization carefully creates matches between adult mentors (Bigs) and youth (Littles), ages 5 to 18.

These relationships are positive and long-lasting, directly influencing the lives of the children involved. BBBS focuses on reaching the kids who need support the most — those in single-parent homes, in households facing economic hardship, or dealing with a parent’s incarceration.

Becoming a Big in the BBBS program gives adults a chance to make a lifelong difference to a Little. It’s amazing how just a little bit of time with a caring adult can make a difference in a Little’s development. Does this sound like you? If so, reach out today and make a difference.
