T-Cubed, Transit Music, Meow Wolf, Heath Concerts, The After Hours Alliance, The Santa Fe Reporter and Santa Fe Sol Present The 3rd Annual SxSF Transit Music Festival.

Some of the finest bands on earth—both emerging and firmly established—will be descending on our fair city this spring en route to the world renowned South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas. In short, City Different music lovers will be lucky enough to get a taste of the fabled SxSW showcases without having to make the trek east.  Art Rock, Dream Pop, Reggae, Industrial, New Orleans Funk and a myriad of other genres will be on exhibition March 5-21.

First conceived of in 2010 by local ne’er do well Mikey Baker and T-Cubed’s Tim Franke, the SxSF Transit Music Festival had humble beginnings, featuring just eight traveling artists (notably electronic maven Daedelus and indie poppers Abe Vigoda) with a sprinkling of local acts. The next year, in 2011, the SxSF Transit Music festival grew exponentially, ending up hosting more than 50 artists, including the (now) Billboard chart-topping acts Foster The People, Neon Indian and The Dodos.

With the demise of Corazon, a location for this year’s SxSF festival was uncertain. Thankfully, Joe Anderson and Santa Fe Sol (formerly The Santa Fe Brewing Company) stepped up and offered to host the 2012 festival. Sol’s increased capacity, top-notch stage, sound and lighting make it the ideal venue for the burgeoning festival’s third year. Sol now has a full liquor license and a tasty new grill menu. But perhaps best of all, their greater capacity now allows EVERY 2012 SxSF show to be an ALL AGES event! Advance tickets, event info, and the evolving full festival lineup at southbysantafe.com or www.ticketssantafe.org.
