WILL GREEN CHILE CHEESEBURGERS BE THE OFFICIAL HAMBURGER OF NM?

MEDIA ALERT - WILL GREEN CHILE CHEESEBURGERS BE THE OFFICIAL HAMBURGER OF NM?

Blake’s Lotaburger Brings Signature Green Chile Cheeseburgers to the Roundhouse on Monday, March 6th for Historic Vote on House Bill 118

On Monday March 6th, a historic vote will be taking place at the Roundhouse – deciding whether the Green Chile Cheeseburger will be adopted as the Official Hamburger of New Mexico.  As voting on House Bill 118 (introduced by Rep. Matthew McQueen, D-Galisteo) takes place, what better way to fully appreciate the impact of the Green Chile Cheeseburger on the region than by experiencing the burger that NM is known for … and which just may become one of the state’s next symbols?

If the bill passes, New Mexico will be the premier location to get a signature Green Chile Cheeseburger, increasing tourism and promoting local growers and products. Representative McQueen’s bill promotes businesses who take pride in New Mexico’s unique culture and benefits the entire state.

To commemorate, and add some “spice”, to this historic legislative vote on Monday, Blake’s Lotaburger will be bringing its signature Green Chile Cheeseburgers to the Roundhouse – making sure legislators voting can experience what makes this burger such a unique New Mexican treasure.  Blake’s Lotaburger -- which pioneered New Mexico’s Green Chile Cheeseburger in 1952 when founder Blake Chanslor noticed people bringing their own green chile to add to their burgers, so added Green Chile Cheeseburgers to the menu – will be cooking its Green Chile Cheeseburgers on-site at the Roundhouse … and serving them to members of state Legislature as they embark on this historic vote!
