Father's Day is that special time of year where you show how much you care. Treat that father figure in your life to some of the great happenings in our city. From SummerBrew to brunch, Father's Day weekend offers a host of things to do. Aside from the fantastic on-going Currents: International New Media Festival, you'll find our picks below.

Friday, June 14:

SummerBrew is your place for the finest offerings from over a dozen craft breweries. Small plates of food will also be available to pair with delicious summer beer.

Your choice of indoor or outdoor courts during the Shellberger Tennis Center's Free Friday Tennis Fiesta. Whether you're new to tennis or a seasoned pro, this is a perfect time to enjoy the facilities.

If you're in the area, maybe camping or fishing with your old man, Anthony Leon & The Chain will be performing at Taos Mesa Brewing. It's just a $5 cover for a night of toe-tapping and two-stepping.

Ronald Roybal performs Native American flute and classical guitar at Amaya in Hotel Santa Fe on both Friday and Saturday. Enjoy a fine dinner while Roybal enthralls with his award-winning music.

Saturday, June 15:

The New Mexico Museum of Art Book Sale features not only books on art, photography and the Southwes, but also available are original pieces that would make fine gifts for those doing some last minute shopping for dad.

Pajarito Mountain wants you to join them for Pajarito Summerfest. With lift-serviced hiking and biking, a New Mexico Brewer's Festival and live music, Summerfest is a strong contender for your weekend time. Be sure to take one of the free shuttles from Los Alamos to save some gas.

Work on your tan and patron local businesses during The FantaSe Community Festival. The reinvigorated DeVargas Park will host live music and fun activities. Don't forget to grab the FantaSe Pass, which will net you 2-for-1 ice cream and other great discounts and giveaway from business in walking distance from the festival. If you missed out on SFUAD's Outdoor Vision Fest, there will be an encore showing of select installations after dark.

Our beloved hometown Santa Fe Fuego host the White Sands Pupfish at Fort Marcy Park on Friday and Saturday. If you haven't had the chance to see them then this weekend would be a perfect time to take in some local Pecos League Baseball.

The Santa Fe Downs opens its gates for a rare concert with Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell. Harris employs americana country stylings while Crowell plays in similiar folky vein. Be sure bring the blankets and lawn chairs for this special show.

Sunday, June 16:

Back for its second year, the Motorado Classic Motorcycle Show features over 100 classic bikes including BMW, Ducati, Harley, Husqvarna, Indian, Triumph and more.

Explore the great outdoors while learning about New Mexico's first railroad, the oldest gold mine in the west and other relics of the Mexican and Territorial Eras on this history tour of the Ortiz Mountains.

The New Mexico History Museum hosts a Father's Day Celebration themed around its Cowboys Real and Imagined exhibition. The Royal Court of the Rodeo de Santa Fe is onsite, hatmaker J.D. Noble demonstrates hatmaking techniques and free cowboy portraits of dad.

Chow down on gourmet BBQ at the 5th Annual Cowboy Cookout on the Bishop's Lodge Ranch to round out your day with dad. The Steve Rose Band plays classic country-western tunes while the kids can take free pony rides.
