More great music continues!

Cat Tracks February 19, 2018

More great new music continues to make its way to The Cat. Scat master Ori Dagan has a new CD- Nathaniel: A Tribute to Nat King Cole. We received a debut CD from Maria Schafer, an LA based singer who has a very strong, confident voice. And there’s a nice release from the Marc Devine Trio, a piano trio.

Don’t forget to get your Latin Jazz fix every Wednesday night from 7 to 9 with Nacha Mendez.

We’re featuring some music from Maria Schneider who will be at the Lensic March 2. She’s a great composer along the lines of Gil Evans. This should be a great show.

And this Tuesday kicks off our new album series of The Beatles- All Jazzed Up.

Tomorrow night at 7 we start with A Hard Day’s Night. We have jazz versions of 8 of the 13 songs. Where we have a vocal and instrumental version of a song we’ll play them back to back with the vocal first. We’ll play the songs in order as they were on the album. This was a fun little project to put together and we hope you’ll enjoy it. We’d love to get your feedback. Here’s what we have in the coming weeks:

2/20- A Hard Day’s Night

2/27- Rubber Soul

3/6- Revolver

3/13- Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band

3/20- Magical Mystery Tour

3/27- The White Album

4/3- Abbey Road

Check back here tomorrow and I’ll have some more info about A Hard Day’s Night.
