A cross-country tour to increase awareness and support of families of American soldiers impacted by combat comes to Santa Fe today, at 1 p.m., at Chalmers Capitol Ford Lincoln of Santa Fe, 4490 Cerillos Rd, Santa Fe. The 50-state “High Five Tour 2011” supports the Wounded Warriors Family Support organization, which provides support to the families of those who have been wounded, injured or killed during combat operations, according to its mission statement.

Retired U.S. Marine Corps Colonel and organization founder John Folsom is in the middle of a four-week, coast-to-coast road trip championing his cause. In each state, the Colonel makes a pit stop in his custom Shelby Ford Mustang GT500 and gives participants an opportunity to sign the vehicle, learn more about Wounded Warriors and donate to the cause. For more information about Wounded Warriors Family Support, visit the organization's website or stop by today's event. More info about the tour is available at
