The 2011 Santa Fe IFF brought a host of new opportunities, great friendships, community partnerships and award-winning, talented filmmakers to the festival. We are grateful to Santa Fe IFF friends and fellow cinema-lovers for their participation and support. The films screened at the 2011 Santa Fe IFF covered a wide variety of subjects and genres including Drama, Comedy, Musical, Green Earth, Social Justice, Health Awareness, Indigenous Peoples, Veteran Awareness, Youth, Family, Arts and Culture, Spanish and New Mexico films. The program included feature films, documentaries and shorts.
The 2011 Third Annual Fest screenings grew from 80 to 110 films, screening venues increased to five, event venues grew to five local businesses, community and corporate partners increased to 45, educational institutions participating in Santa Fe IFF’s internship opportunities tripled and 85 volunteers were key to making the 2011 Santa Fe IFF a success. Audience attendance grew to nearly 2,500. Film Submissions in 2011 increased from 2010 and included many award-winning critically acclaimed shorts and feature films from independent filmmakers across the world.
Santa Fe IFF anticipates even more film submissions after FILMMAKER Magazine coverage, which lauded the 2011 Santa Fe IFF , stating, “In fact, I often felt like I was at an all-inclusive resort for cinephiles rather than attending a mere film festival.”
2012 is an exciting year for Santa Fe IFF because it marks the fourth year of a growing festival for independent film. Santa Fe IFF is dedicated to the economic development of our city and New Mexico film and we are working to involve even more local community participants in the 2012 festival.
Santa Fe IFF is committed to attracting a growing number of people who make and love films from all over the world to join this year’s Fest and enjoy independent films and the unique charm of Santa Fe. Santa Fe IFF 2012 will continue growing excellence in independent film, diverse audiences, educational opportunities and community partnerships.
