Santa Fe Independent Film Festival  is pleased to have been named one of "MovieMaker's Top 25 Coolest General Festivals on the Planet." SFIFF has made the list of the top 25 coolest general film festivals on the planet, and will be covered in this month's issue of MovieMaker Magazine alongside Tribeca film Festival and San Francisco international film Festival. The issue hit stands this month. Santa Fe Independent Film Festival thanks everyone who voted and we were overwhelmed by all the generous support.  Having just closed the curtain on the 5th annual Santa Fe Independent Film Festival, hosted over eight thousand attendees that were treated to films such as Tapia and Go For Sisters along with a writing lab with Joan Torres (writer of Blacula), a masters discussion with cinematographer Lee Daniel (Dazed and Confused, Before Sunset), a masters discussion with George R.R. Martin hosted by Kirk Ellis, and a one-man show with John Waters (Pink Flamingos, Hairspray), it's no wonder Indiewire named it "a young Sundance." The vision from Festival Director Liesette Paisner along with Co-Founders Jacques Paisner and Dave Moore, have allowed them to see the festival grow throughout the years, adding thousands of attendees each season. Santa Fe Independent Film Festival has stayed vibrant and faithful to their original vision of getting Santa Fe recognized as a top film tourism destination and not only the best place to make a film but also to see a film, continuing to be an "all inclusive resort for cinephiles" as dubbed by Filmmaker Magazine. The Sixth Annual Santa Fe Independent Film Festival will begin accepting entries on January 10th, 2014. The 2014 Fest will be held October 15-19th, 2014 following Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.
