The Lensic Presents This Wonderful Life

- November 10, 2016

Santa Fe, NM – The Lensic proudly presents “This Wonderful Life,” featuring actor Jeremy Kendell in a solo holiday performance on Thursday, December 1, 2016, at 7:30 pm. Tickets start at $25 (TicketsSantaFe.org).

Kendall displays physical and verbal virtuosity portraying George Bailey and more than 30 other Bedford Falls characters in this one-man play based on the classic holiday film “It’s a Wonderful Life.” The play is a fast-paced tour-de-force—funny, poignant, and uplifting. Like the film, it centers on George, a man who has given up his dream to help others, and whose imminent suicide on Christmas Eve brings about the intervention of his guardian angel, Clarence. Clarence shows him how different life in his community would be had he never been born.

Jeremy Kendall has more than 20 years of experience in film, television, and theatre. He has starred in several films including the Indie cult favorite, “Lilith,” shot in 2011 by filmmaker Sridhar Reddy. Sharing the stage with veterans such as Oscar nominee David Strathairn (“Good Night and Good Luck”) and Emmy winner Mariette Hartley (“The Incredible Hulk”), he has performed in roles for the Cleveland Playhouse, the Dobama Theatre, the Nebraska Shakespeare Festival, and the Nebraska Repertory Theatre. Kendall received his M.F.A. in acting from the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film at the University of Nebraska.

“This Wonderful Life” was written by Steve Murray, conceived by Mark Setlock, and adapted from the screenplay “It’s a Wonderful Life,” by Frances Goodrich, Albert Hackett, Frank Capra, and Jo Swerling.

“Like the film that inspired it, it quietly celebrates a simple truth: Little things mean more than we know.” — The Boston Globe
