In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, The Life Link is excited to host the 3rd Annual Be Kind to Your Mind Mental Health Festival on Saturday, May 4th, from 10am to 2pm at the Genoveva Chavez Center, 3221 Rodeo Rd, Santa Fe. This Life Link event focuses on enhancing mental health and resilience with a series of engaging activities, enlightening speakers, and beneficial workshops.
Arrive early to visit information tables staffed by members of 25 mental health organizations and resources, and attend the keynote presentation, by Sylvia Barela, MBA and CEO of Via Positiva. Other morning activities include a welcome by Yvette Medina, CPSW, CSHPS, and CCSS Program Supervisor, and Craig O’Hare, The Life Link Board Chair.
Morning sessions, from 10:45 – noon include Food and Mood, Art Therapy for Self Care, and Substance Use 101: Harm Reduction and Overdose Prevention.
A healthy lunch from 12 – 12:45 is provided by What the Truck Catering.
Afternoon sessions go from 1 – 2 p.m. and include Gentle Yoga, Navigating Grief: Healing Hearts, Honoring Loss, and Embracing Nature: Integrating Outdoor Activities for Wellness.
The festival presents a wide array of experiences for participants. Enjoy uplifting live music performances and attend informative workshops that cover various topics including the impact of diet on mood, managing grief and loss, and the therapeutic benefits of art therapy. This festival provides ample opportunities for everyone.
This event acts as a platform for our community to unite, break down the stigma surrounding mental health discussions, and access valuable resources for personal development and well-being.
Along with the beneficial programming, attendees will get a free festival t-shirt and enjoy a nutritious lunch, fueling both body and mind for the duration of the event.
