Staci Golar

Culture Junkie

I dig art, cultures and customs, and for the most part, the people involved in all of the above. Creative expression, whether it be in the form of a henna adorned hand, a custom painted lowrider or a masterfully sculpted piece of marble, makes life so much more interesting and to me, bearable.

After not leaving the house for 6 years in order to obtain a bachelor’s degree in art and a master’s degree in arts administration, Santa Fe became my home. I have been a part of the city’s diverse cultural scene for more than 10 years now, both as an employee of some prominent arts organizations and (from time to time) as an artist. As a freelance writer, my features on everything from local art fairs to contemporary Native American performance artists have been published in local and national magazines.

On SantaFe.com I hope to explore the mix of beautiful and ugly, old and new, unique and mundane things that make Santa Fe such a unique place to live, work and play.
