Cautiously Optimistic?

"We want to be cautious, but also to rejoice in these possible steps toward confidence that our country still has a future..."

The saying that the more things change, the more they stay the same is certainly true these days. America has been through the wringer financially and politically this year, but Black Friday has broken records for store sales. On Tuesday, November 30, the stock market went up approximately 400 points. For the moment, we’re beginning to feel like the old America: the general public’s mood appears to be more hopeful.

The Greek, Italian, Spanish debacle, as of this writing, shows improvement. Possibly, we’re beginning to see some light in the world’s complex financial situation. We want to be cautious, but also to rejoice in these possible steps toward confidence that our country still has a future. If none of us believe it, it won’t happen, so let’s all of us celebrate the spirit of today.
