“New A&E TV Series on tap for Santa Fe and Las Vegas…”

Production will begin on "Longmire", a new hour-long drama series from Warner Horizon Television, in March in Santa Fe, Las Vegas and the surrounding areas. The new TV series will launch with 10 episodes on A&E this summer with stars Robert Taylor ("The Matrix"), Katee Sackhoff ("Battlestar Galactica"), Lou Diamond Phillips ("Stand and Deliver," "Courage Under Fire," "Young Guns," "La Bamba"), Bailey Chase ("Saving Grace," "Damages"), Cassidy Freeman ("Smallville") and newcomer Adam Bartley.

Based on the Walt Longmire mystery novels by bestselling author Craig Johnson, Longmire is named after its central character, Walt Longmire (Taylor), the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming, who is rebuilding his life and career after the death of his wife. Widowed only a year, Longmire is a man in psychic repair but buries his pain behind his brave face, unassuming grin and dry wit.

Hunt Baldwin ("The Closer," "Trust Me") and John Coveny ("The Closer," "Trust Me") wrote the pilot and serve as executive producers along with Greer Shephard ("The Closer," "Nip/Tuck") and Michael M. Robin ("The Closer," "Nip/Tuck").  Christopher Chulack ("Southland," "ER") served as director and executive producer of the pilot

"Longmire" is produced by The Shephard/Robin Company in association with Warner Horizon Television and will employ at least 130 New Mexico crew members and more than 160 principal and background talent.
