“Three shows to run concurrently…”
The Anne and John Marion Center for Photographic Arts at Santa Fe University of Art and Design will host a juried members’ exhibition of the Society for Photographic Education (SPE). Jurors David Scheinbaum, chair of the university’s Photography Department, and faculty members Tony O’Brien and Steve Fitch chose a total of 29 images by 24 artists for this Southwest SPE Chapter show. SPE Southwest members were invited to submit up to five prints on any theme for the show, which opens with a reception on November 10 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Concurrent with this show, the work of alumnus Eric Cousineau (Photography 2003) will be featured in a solo show in the Marion Center’s Art Office. The Exit Gallery, a student-run photography gallery in the darkroom section of the center, will also be open for viewing. All three events are part of SPE Southwest’s 2011 regional conference. In addition, a “Trade Show” will display works by both students and faculty members and, after the exhibition closes Nov. 30, each participant will draw a number and win a piece of art.
