Save the date! Pecos National Historical Park would like to invite the public to participate in this year’s Civil War Encampment on Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Learn about the life of Civil War soldiers in New Mexico, interact with living history participants, see black powder demonstrations, take a ride on a horse-drawn wagon, and hear speakers share their expertise on life during the Civil War in the West. Participate in kids’ activities and arts and crafts such as mini-looms, creating pine cone turkeys, personalizing kazoos, and playing historical games.
