22nd ANNUAL SANTA FE PEN FAIR MARCH 11 & 12
21 Years Serving New Mexico Pen Lovers
SANTA FE – February 28, 2017 – Santa Fe Pens is proud to announce the dates for
the 22 nd Annual Santa Fe Pen Fair for Saturday, March 11, and Sunday, March 12, 2017.
Along with celebrating its first full year at DeVargas Center, following its 20-year run at
the now closed Sanbusco complex, the Santa Fe Pens will unveil the Santa Fe Edition
XIX fountain and roller ball pens. This year’s pen was hand-crafted by Montegrappa, a
105-year- old Italian pen manufacturer.
“Our first year at DeVargas Center has been exciting,” said Neal Frank, Santa Fe Pens
owner. “Our business has picked up from our old location, and DeVargas’ stores and
management have been really welcoming. Our customer base has migrated over to
DeVargas and we’ve been visited by a whole new crop of customers. We’ve been very
fortunate to have served the New Mexico pen community through both our Pen Fair and
store for the past 21 years, and we’re looking forward to another 20 years at DeVargas
Scheduled for Saturday, March 11, and Sunday, March 12, 2017, the Pen Fair is New
Mexico’s largest gathering of pen manufacturers and pen aficionados. This year’s event
features more than 20 pen and ink manufacturers, including some making their first
appearance in the City Different.
The Santa Fe Edition XIX fountain and roller ball pens are made by Montegrappa,
an Italian manufacturer that has been hand-crafting pens since 1912 in Bassano del
Grappa. This item is a Santa Fe Pens exclusive and will be unveiled at this year’s Pen
“This pen is quite impressive and is crafted from a black and gray blended celluloid
material. It is fitted with full Sterling Silver trim on the cap, barrel and gripping section.
All fountain pens are produced with 18K solid gold nibs in extra fine, fine, medium and
bold line widths,” Frank added. “The roller ball also is fitted with a standard refill, and
both models feature a roller clip to reduce wear and tear on the user’s shirt pocket. This
is our first collaboration with Montegrappa, and the result is one of the best-looking
Santa Fe Edition models we’ve ever created.”
Each pen is numbered, and buyers of last year’s Santa Fe Edition models have right of
first refusal for the next pen with their personal number. (Editor’s note: photography is
