Judy Chicago at form & concept

Friday, February 10, 5:00 pm. Reception to follow.
The Women's International Study Center (WISC) presents a special dialogue between artist Judy Chicago and Chad Alligood, curator at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Alligood is writing an article for an upcoming monograph by the National Museum of Women in the Arts, which will cover every era of Chicago's remarkable career.
Through a fellowship with WISC, Alligood will travel to New Mexico to engage Chicago in a public discussion about her diverse creative explorations in the 1960's and 1970's. Over the course of the evening, a fascinating chapter of Chicago's life will unfold. It's the beginning of a monumental project that will engage 18 writers across the world. Seating is limited, so please email us to request a press pass and materials for the special event. There will also be a standing room with live video of the event, and an online broadcast.
In addition to Friday's public dialogue, form & concept will present a new performance piece by local art group Victory Grrrls on Saturday, February 11 at 3:00 pm. Playing on feminist themes that Chicago has explored throughout her career, Niomi Fawn, Thais Mather and Lucy Madeline will illuminate the continued vitality of the powerful social movement that has been bolstered by Chicago's artworks and activism.
