Songwriter Jimmy Webb penned hits like “MacArthur Park” and “Up, Up Away” and has worked with countless musical greats. But perhaps his most enduring partnership has been with musician and vocalist Glen Campbell. The brotherhood between the two artists—a composer who wrote complicated chords and song structures that could not be performed by just anybody and a natural-born musician with an almost unnatural vocal range and musical abilities—is legendary. In this special performance, Webb plays piano and shares anecdotes—along with photos, videos, and audio clips—to give a moving, often humorous account of his friendship and artistic collaborations with Campbel. The evening highlights some of the 100+ recordings from the Webb/Campbell songbook, providing personal stories behind generational touchstones like “Honey Come Back,” “By the Time I Get to Phoenix,” “Wichita Lineman,&r dquo; “Galveston" and more.
