The New Mexico film industry is the top job producer and career builder in the state. It’s an ever-growing and exciting industry that provides an abundance of opportunities for all New Mexicans.

This year’s New Mexico Film and Media Day, hosted by and IATSE Local 480, will be held at the New Mexico State Capital on Monday, February 13, providing the perfect opportunity for locals to learn more about the industry, and take part in casting for multiple shows and movies across the state.

The all-day event will provide valuable insight into New Mexico film, and shine a light on some of the politics involved in ensuring the industry thrives and prospers in New Mexico. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and thank the Legislators who work toward the continued success of the industry, as well as have breakfast with Santa Fe Mayor Javier Gonzales.

Attendees will have the chance at multiple casting opportunities for various productions across the state, including the world famous New Mexico made series Longmire, which will be casting for their final season beginning at 1 pm. The first 300 arrivals dressed in western gear will receive a limited edition Longmire Last Round-Up t-shirt.

There will be a special appearance by actor Chris Browning (The Book of Eli, Terminator Salvation), as well as guest appearances by up and coming local actors and filmmakers, all sharing how New Mexico film has influenced their careers.

Attendees will also enjoy live local music and vendors, and have the chance to visit and photograph the famous Reel Breaking Bad RV, which is a precise screen replica of the show’s iconic vehicle.

The 2017 Film and Media Day officially kicks-off on Sunday, February 12 with the New Mexico Women in Film event taking place on February 12 at the Center for Progress and Justice, 1420 Cerrillos Road.

These special events provide the valuable opportunity for locals to get involved and become a part of the exciting world of New Mexico Film!
