Culture is dynamic and in New Mexico a number of unusual –even bizarre— traditions emerged which were not totally indigenous, Spanish, nor Anglo-American, per se, but uniquely New Mexican. UNM Professor of Latin American History, Larry V. Larrichio, Ph.D, will discuss a cornucopia of fascinating, unusual and in some cases, strange manifestations of human ecology within the confines of a traditional cultural environment. Cerrillos Hills State Park Visitor Center - 37 Main Street, Cerrillos, NM. Approximately 16 miles south of Santa Fe and 3 miles north of Madrid via NM 14. Take County Road 57 west into Cerrillos village. Donations welcome. See link for a map http://www.emnrd.state.nm.us/PRD/images/orientationmap.jpg
