Are you ready for some great country fun? The Las Cruces Country Music Festival is back for another weekend of legendary country music April 28-30, 2017!
The fifth anniversary of the festival kicks off Friday night with a once-in-a-lifetime lineup featuring the Marshall Tucker Band, Tanya Tucker and Travis Tritt, all on the New Mexico True North Stage. The trio has accounted for dozens of country hits and awards including Tritt’s two Grammys, five number one singles.
On Saturday night, the festivities continue with current country superstars Kacy Musgraves and the Eli Young Band. Musgraves, a two-time Grammy winner and three-time CMA winner, has reached the top of the country charts with hits like “Mama’s Broken Heart”, “Merry Go ‘round”, “Follow Your Arrow”, and most recently “Biscuits”. Her recent concert with country legend George Straight was one of the highest grossing county shows of the year.
Opening on Saturday with be hometown favorite Bri Bagwell, who’s video for her latest hit “Las Cruces” has received numerous awards and social views.
Over on the south stage, local and regional favorites will keep the music going in between acts on the north stage.
In addition to all the great music, the festival will feature plenty of activities for the entire family including food, vendor, and a free kid’s area with activities for kids of all ages. And for all you cowboy and cowgirls, there will be a mechanical bull for you to show off your rodeo skills!
Be sure to make it over to the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum Sunday morning for the annual Tough Enough to Wear Pink Country Breakfast. This event, a perfect end to a great country weekend, features acoustic performances as well as a western-wear fashion show. All proceeds from the event benefit the Las Cruces Tough Enough to Wear Pink foundation which raises money for cancer research.
Entering its fifth year, the festival has established itself as one of Las Cruces and New Mexico’s premier events. Having grown tremendously from its first year, the CMF has hosted country legends like Kenny Rogers and recent Country Music Hall of Fame member Charlie Daniels. The festival has also featured many of the future stars of country music including Cassadee Pope, Cam, Chase Bryant, the Swan Brothers and Dustin Lynch, each having seen early success on the country charts.
The festival offers several ticket options and City of Las Cruces employees and members of the military can receive a $5 discount on day and festival passes when they purchase tickets at the CVB office. Limit one per person.
The festival is hosted by Visit Las Cruces and the Friends of Visit Las Cruces Foundation. For more information visit lccountryfest.com.
