College of Engineering and Technology New Mexico
Northern New Mexico College's College of Engineering and Technology is unique in northern New Mexico. With an average class size of 12, we offer you the personalized attention so difficult to get at larger universities, and we are one of the most affordable in the nation. Also, we provide strong hands-on experiences from day one, and we make sure that every single engineering class provides such experiences.
We are dedicated to developing your potential as a community leader in the areas of engineering and technology. Many of our students are placed in the field even before graduation. They are preferentially recruited by Los Alamos National Lab and engineering companies in the region, and many students enjoy internships as part of their educational experience.
We offer two bachelor degrees: an ABET-accredited program in Information Engineering Technology, and recently created program in Electromechanical Engineering Technology. We also offer one Post-baccalaureate Certificate program, and five associate degrees, including two AAS degrees and one Certificate in Career Technical Education (CTE).
Our goal for each student: to acquire the knowledge and skills to become employable with a high paid and high demand and affordable degree. Our cost of attendance is one of the lowest in the country for an engineering program and we offer scholarships to cover tuition and fees, and even provide living stipends. We have partnered with local community colleges to make the course’s transfer process as smooth as possible for students that have completed an associate degree in a technical field. Depending on the nature of the degree, some students can transfer 100% of their credits.
We are located in the SERPA building – Northern's Solar Energy Research Park and Academy. Call or visit us to learn more about our programs!
