Welcome to St. Michael’s High School, New Mexico's most historic educational institution. St. Michael's is an independent, Lasallian Catholic school whose mission is to provide a quality education to young men and women. St. Michael’s draws its philosophy and inspiration from the Christian Brothers, whose reputation for excellence in education extends back to 1680. However, we are as relevant as we are historic, preparing curious youth to become extraordinary adults.
St. Michael’s offers all the advantages of a larger school, with all the benefits of a smaller, safe, and personalized environment. Our students are taught to think critically, to discover and analyze, and to communicate knowledge and understanding to others. We reach beyond academics and incorporate athletics, fine arts, faith, and service in an environment that challenges yet supports each individual student.
St. Michael’s draws its philosophy from founder Saint John Baptist de La Salle. Like all Lasallian schools, St. Michael’s operates according to five core principles:
Faith in the Presence of God
Respect for All Persons
Concern for the Poor and Social Justice
These core principles, along with a passionate and accomplished faculty, develop well-rounded students who are prepared academically and who are active outside the classroom. St. Michael’s provides the foundation for students to discover their talents and interests, and to gain a sense of confidence and personal responsibility that will last a lifetime.
St. Michael’s is co-educational and offers seventh through twelfth grades. We are centrally located on a 25-acre campus on Siringo Road, a few blocks east of St. Francis Drive.
St. Michael's High School is accredited by AdvancED and the State of New Mexico Department of Education.
