The Launchpad in Albuquerque welcomes Latin trailblazers Lido Pimienta and Y La Bamba, Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 8 p.m. Lido Pimienta is a Colombian born, Toronto-based interdisciplinary artist/curator and musician. Her work explores the politics of gender, race, motherhood, identity and the construct of the Canadian landscape in the Latin American Diaspora and vernacular. Her collaborations with artists in Canada and around the world have made her one of the most prolific lyricist and improv virtuosos of her generation. Y La Bamba is an eclectic indie folk pop band from Portland, Oregon lead by Luz Elena Mendoza, a first-generation Mexican American who sings in both English and Spanish.
