Charlotte Jackson Fine Art presents Max Cole’s contemporary minimalist exhibition The Bounding Circle, September 10 – October 10, 2021. Oriented like landscapes, Max Cole’s paintings are quiet and expansive works, containing rhythms of repeating lines – horizontals of muted colors and soft, fine, perfect vertical marks that she is so well-known for. Eggshell, sand, shadow, bark, fence post, flower petal, wet earth, clay pot – bands of these soft colors alternate, open, repeat, woven together, speaking to each other in a unique language. The pieces included in The Bounding Circle were all created during an artist residency that Cole participated in in the mid-1990’s in Roswell, New Mexico. An opening reception will be held for Cole Friday, September 10, from 5-7 p.m. For more information, call 505-989-8688.
