LIVESTREAM: Mycorrhizal Symbiosis: Critical to Most Plants on Earth-

Learn all about the biology of different groups of fungi that have provided ways to ensure adequate mineral nutrition and sustainability since plants first established on land more than 400 million years ago.

Seven different types of symbiotic associations are known, but we will focus on three: one involving evergreens and some hardwoods (ectomycorrhizae), one critical to the life of 85% of all other plants (endomycorrhizae) and one on orchids. Join Dr. Joe Morton as he discusses the benefits of these fungi, how they grow, and how they can be utilized in natural and managed ecosystems.
