Blue Rain Gallery hosts a group exhibition for their Annual Celebration of Native American Art during Native Art Week, August 19-31, 2021. Participating artists include Dan Friday, Helen K. Tindel, Shelley Muzylowski Allen and Angela Swedberg collaborations, Jody Naranjo, Chris Pappan, Starr Hardridge, Maria Samora, Hyrum Joe, Lisa Holt and Harlan Reano, Thomas Breeze Marcus and more. Gerald Peters Contemporary presents A New Day, an exhibition of paintings by Patrick Dean Hubbell, August 13 – September 25, 2021. These new paintings extend Hubbell’s experimentation with suspended canvases. Using acrylic, charcoal, and natural earth pigments collected from the Diné nation, Hubbell summons webs of colors interrupted by stylized geometric patterns more commonly found on Navajo textiles.
