Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Santa Fe International Half Marathon (formerly the Santa Fe Buffalo Thunder half marathon) will be run virtually in 2020. “The safety of our participants, volunteers, spectators, and their families demands it. “No amount of precautions could eliminate the risks COVID-19 poses to a community of runners coming together from a multitude of backgrounds. This coming together is what makes our race so worthwhile and beautiful. So we must relent.”
Runners and walkers are instead invited to register for and participate in a virtual race. From September 20 to October 31, runners and walkers can complete a half-marathon, 5K, or 1-mile race on their own time, at any location. They can then post their finish times at runsignup.com.
Proceeds from the event will benefit nonprofit Wings of America
