No Name Cinema presents the New Mexico premiere of Betty Gordon’s 1983 cult classic Variety, Saturday, January 15, 2022, 7:30 p.m. A landmark independent film that challenges common notions about feminism and pornography, presented in a new director-approved 2K restoration from the original camera negative! The film follows Christine, a bright and unassuming young woman, after she takes a job selling tickets at a porno theater near Times Square. Christine soon develops an obsession that begins to consume her life, finding self-expression through an interest in porn. Run time is 100 minutes. Also included are Habitat, also directed by Gordon, with a running time of 21 minutes, and Weeki Wachee Mermaids, a silent film from the 1950s, with a 3-minute run time.
