The Jean Cocteau Cinema in downtown Santa Fe hosts the Veterans Journey Home Film Series, November 11-12, 2021. The five-film series from acclaimed filmmaker Frederick Marx (Hoop Dreams) focus on the amazing journey of veterans readjusting to life back home after returning from combat and is hosted by the New Mexico Department of Veterans Services and Warrior Films.

The series kicks off with a matinee on Veterans Day, Thursday, November 11, at 1 p.m. Showcased in that slot will be three films: Solutions, Ben’s Story and On Black Mountain. Later that evening, at 6 p.m., two more films will be showcased: Kalani’s Story and Leaving It On The Land. Marx will then host a Q&A period from 7:45-8:15 p.m.

On Friday, November 12, there will be a 1 p.m. session, playing Kalani’s Story and Leaving It On The Land, followed by a Q&A with Marx at 3:15 p.m. Later that evening, starting at 6 p.m., Solutions, Ben’s Story and On Black Mountain will screen, followed by a Q&A with Marx at 7:45 p.m.

Tickets are $20 for the matinee sessions on both days, $25 for each evening show, and $40 for a two-day pass. Active-duty service members and veterans will be admitted free for all sessions.
