Votes for Women – The 100th Anniversary,
A Virtual Lecture with Paul Barnes & Ali MacGraw:

Celebrate the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment that finally gave American women the right to vote. Paul Barnes, the co-director and co-producer of Ken Burns’ PBS miniseries “Not For Ourselves Alone: The Story of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony” will show clips from the groundbreaking documentary, which recounts the largely forgotten 19th-century struggle of Stanton and Anthony to gain equal rights for women.

It took 72 arduous years for women to gain the right to vote. Neither woman lived to see the triumph of the Amendment’s passage. Barnes and special guest Ali MacGraw will provide historical context and read from Elaine Weiss’s “The Woman’s Hour”. Barnes will also share stories about the creation of the documentary. 80 minutes plus Q&A.
