The Santa Fe Opera ignites July with dramatic flair as the season expands with three bold additions. Verdi’s Rigoletto premieres July 12 in a visually captivating co-production inspired by Renaissance art and circus themes. On July 19, The Turn of the Screw makes its chilling debut at Santa Fe Opera. Benjamin Britten’s haunting adaptation of Henry James’ ghost story arrives in an acclaimed staging by Louisa Muller. The month culminates with a milestone: the company’s first-ever production of Wagner’s Die Walküre (The Valkyrie) on July 26, exploring myth, destiny, and redemption on an epic scale. With five operas now in rotation, July is the heart of the season’s most daring storytelling.

Throughout Santa Fe
The Santa Fe Summer Scene is the largest free music series in New Mexico, replacing the long-running Santa Fe Bandstand. What started as a small local showcase on the Santa Fe Plaza has grown into one of the state’s most anticipated summer concert series, featuring a diverse lineup of national and local musicians and family-friendly films at multiple venues across Santa Fe. This vibrant series draws large crowds and celebrates the rich live music tradition of the area throughout the summer.

Pancakes on the Plaza is a beloved Santa Fe Fourth of July tradition celebrating nearly 50 years of community spirit. Held on the historic Santa Fe Plaza, the event features delicious pancakes served with sausage, live music, a vintage car show, arts and crafts booths, and fun activities for all ages. Drawing crowds of up to 20,000, it’s the Rotary Club of Santa Fe’s largest fundraiser, supporting local youth organizations like the Santa Fe Children’s Museum and YouthWorks. Join locals and visitors for a festive day of food, music, and family fun in the heart of Santa Fe.
