Incite Shakespeare Company Announces Its Summer Season

Incite Shakespeare Company (ISC) is celebrating its 5th year offering imaginative, entertaining, and insightful performances in Santa Fe. To do it up right, this year begins with the scintillating (and ever so contemporary) political thriller Richard III.  Witness the infamous King Richard played as you’ve never seen him before, July 14 – 23, 2023. Then, enjoy some of your favorite scenes about relationships, from Romeo & Juliet, Twelfth Night, Macbeth, Julius Caesar, and more in an original production, Shakespeare’s Duets: Turn & Change – devised and performed by Andrew Codispoti and Ariana Karp – July 27 – 30, 2023.

Due to generosity from donors including the City of Santa Fe, Arts & Culture Department and The Shakespeare Fund of Theatre League of Kansas City, the whole season is “Pay What You Will.”

Come and incite Shakespeare with us!

Find out how the ISC is changing the way people view the bard this summer! Attend performances at The Actors Lab, July 14 – 30, 2023. Audiences will be thoroughly entertained as ISC takes Shakespeare’s plays off the pedestal and explores their resonance in our contemporary times. The ensemble examines power, plays with gender, and experiments with process, creating productions that provoke and astonish.

2023 is the 400th anniversary of the publication of the Shakespeare First Folio and Artistic Director Ariana Karp explains “we aim to present Shakespeare’s work as we experience it: exciting, alive, edgy, full of beauty, imagination, change, contradiction, and complexity. We want our whole community, from actors to audiences, from designers to students, to feel energized by Shakespeare. To fully commit to these ambitions and values, we are proud to announce that we are changing our name to Incite Shakespeare Company Santa Fe.
