After 30 years of creating beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry, Danuta Zaluska has announced her retirement from Jewelry by Danuta located at 227 East Palace Ave. in Santa Fe. For her customers, that means a final shopping opportunity with everything marked down by as much as 70 percent. She is currently liquidating her entire inventory, so there has never been a better time to purchase that one-of-a-kind item from her special collection.
After serving Santa Fe and the surrounding community for the past 30 years, Danuta believes that it is the right time for retirement. She encourages shoppers not to delay as her unique pieces won’t last long at these discounted rates.
Jewelry by Danuta
Danuta began her jewelry design career at the young age of 19 and was accepted to the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City where she won numerous awards. She was trained and tutored by the famous Bulgari designer Omar Torres. She later went on to a successful career as a jewelry designer for Saks Fifth Avenue. All this worldly experience led her to create her own creations under the name Jewelry by Danuta. She has attained global status and has customers from all over the world.
From her humble beginnings in Europe to her now global jewelry line of unique pieces of hand-crafted jewelry, she has always kept true to her unique ability to make pieces that define her European and Celtic roots. She travels extensively and lives to experience beauty and inspiration and brings them to life in her one-of-a-kind pieces.
She said many people have come into her store looking for that perfect piece of jewelry. “Jewelry is such a personal item and it’s for special times in people’s lives,” she said. “It’s connected to a memory. I’ve enjoyed creating that perfect piece for couples to cherish the rest of their lives.”
One of the highlights for Danuta is the many friendships she has built up with her customers over the years.
“I have so many special customers,” Danuta said, “they have become such close friends and they trust me with their jewelry. It is an emotional time to say goodbye to my customers.”
She said another aspect of the jewelry industry that she had enjoyed was trying to find unique pieces that stood out from the typical mall-based jewelry stores.
Danuta explained, “I always like different pieces that are special, not like when you go to the mall, and you go to one jewelry store and to the next jewelry store. You realize that they all carry the same thing and I want to be different from the mall.”
She added, “Most of my pieces are very special, they are unique, and I always try to just sell one item, one piece in that style instead of 10 or 15 of the same pieces. To see the smile on a face when they put the jewelry on, that’s very rewarding.”
Danuta said the final thing she would like to say to the community in Santa Fe is “Thank you.”
The sale at Jewelry by Danuta is in progress and will continue until the inventory is liquidated. Hurry in!
