Cacao Santa Fe: The Art & Culture of Chocolate is a creative collaboration between Melanie Boudar and Derek Lanter. The friends and business partners met in Oahu, Hawaii where Derek managed the coffee and cacao operation for Waialua Estate and Melanie owned and operated Sweet Paradise Chocolatier in Kailua. Each worked diligently to help shape and form the emerging fine chocolate industry in Hawaii and became founding members of the Hawaii Chocolate and Cacao Association.
Cacao opened in the Summer 2016 in the Richards Business park in the Siler Creative district. Located off Henry Lynch road on Richards Lane just 4 blocks from Home Depot and nearby to Meow Wolf arts experience , the Duel Brewing Company and the acclaimed Adobe Rose Theatre, and Teatro Paraguas.
Chocolate and Coffee: Cacao Santa Fe roasts direct trade cacao beans and fine specialty coffeeson site; makes bean to bar craft chocolate, and creates beautiful handmade truffles from the finest ingredients. Step into their Coffee bar and try one of their carefully blended unique drinking chocolates, historic elixrs and single origin coffee pour overs and espresso drinks. Relax with friends or schedule a meeting in the learning area.
Classes and Workshops: We invite you to participate in one of their fun and educational chocolate tasting classes, cacao history and culture classes, coffee and workshops.
In the flagship "Food of the Gods" workshop participants join in to make a historic drinking chocolate from scratch while learning about the fascinating culture and history of chocolate. "Food of the God's" will take place in their Gallery, a specially designed place that will transport you to the farm and let you see the steps in solved from taking an agricultural product to something delicious.
You will also learn how to discern quality as you taste fine chocolates from their carefully curated collection of bars from small batch craft chocolate makers around the world. Much like a wine tasting you will taste and understand terroir as it relates to chocolate and learn about the challenges faced by the chocolate industry to maintain fine flavor cacao.
Retail Area: Take time to Explore their collection of homemade chocolate bars and truffles, as well as bars from some of the finest craft chocolate makers in the country and around the world. Cacao Santa Fe also offers quality chocolate themed gifts, including spa & body products, chocolate romance products, scented candles, flower garden seeds , packaged chocolate teas, handcrafted jewelry and logo wear
