All Things Real Estate: First Hour - July 16, 2017

All Things Real Estate - July 16, 2017

This weekly radio show features host and Sotheby's International Realty's Associate Broker Rey Post (NM REC License #45660) and a variety of special guests offering the best news, information and commentary regarding every aspect of today's real estate market.
In the first hour of the show, join Rey and his guests for a discussion of one—and very important—element of the home buying or renting process. On July 16, 1790, the U.S. Congress declared a site between Maryland and Virginia to be our nation's permanent capital—Washington, D.C. The location was selected for a number of reasons, including the area's potential economic and accessibility value, due to the proximity of navigable rivers. This historic occasion of exactly 227 years ago this Sunday sets the theme for the show: "What specific criteria do home buyers, or renters use to determine the home they wish to purchase, or rent?"

Gateway Mortgage Group “Home Buyer Tip”: Scott Robinson (NMLS#202265), Santa Fe Branch Manager at the Gateway Mortgage Group, will offer his own thoughts on the theme of the Sunday show and also provide his regular mortgage tip that can benefit home buyers who are purchasing a property in collaboration with a lender. The Gateway Mortgage Group is one of the largest privately held mortgage companies in the country, doing its entire mortgage servicing in-house. This business element is important, since it means that Gateway’s customers work directly with them until the time their loan is paid.
Santa Fe Vacation Rentals, LLC, Update: Donna Jones White, Owner and Qualifying Broker of Santa Fe Vacation Rentals, LLC, will offer suggestions that relate to the theme of the show, including rental options for vacation, furnished 30-day and long-term unfurnished properties that her firm offers to visitors who travel to our city. Visitors to Santa Fe turn to Donna’s company to aid them in finding comfortable and high-quality residences for their stays in our community.
What Brokers Use To Aid Home Buyers: Rey will offer his own thoughts on the numerous ways that professional real estate brokers provide assistance to consumers, as they tackle the sometimes challenging process of buying a home.
Open House of the Week: Rey will review the attributes of 2169 Ridgeview Circle with his Sotheby’s International Realty broker colleagues Vanessa Rios y Valles and Adrienne DeGuere. This impeccably maintained, multi-level contemporary style two-bedroom home offers numerous features and has a great central location, with easy access to downtown Santa Fe.

In the second hour of the show, join the Reside Home team of Jeff Fenton and Chris Martinez who will host their monthly interior design program. This month’s show will focus on using Santa Fe’s renowned International Folk Art Market to find cool, collected pieces that add depth and texture to your interiors. Jeff and Chris will interview a variety of people associated with the event, which is being staged in Santa Fe on July 14, 15 and 16. The Market is on every art and culture lover’s don’t-miss list as the only place on the planet to meet 160 master artists from 53 countries and shop a global gallery of the finest handmade folk art traditions. Reside Home is a design-based, boutique home furnishings showroom in Santa Fe, offering a unique mix of national brands, paired with one-of-a-kind pieces, all displayed to inspire. The firm is also proud to offer a private-label upholstery collection, Reside Loft. From furniture to rugs, lighting, pillows, art, accessories, and bedding, Reside Home has what it takes to make your home beautiful.
