All Things Real Estate - June 16, 2019

In both hours of the Sunday show, join Rey and his guests for a special remote broadcast from the Taos Tap Room. The first hour of the program will speak to the special relationship between the City of Santa Fe and the Town of Taos. The second hour of the program will feature the ongoing broadcast of the monthly "This Is Taos" show series, which focuses on the many reasons why people find the historic northern New Mexico town a desirable destination to visit, as well as to own a home.

Overview Thoughts: Rey will offer his observations on the unique relationships that Santa Fe real estate professionals have with Taos, as well as preview many of the elements of the second hour's remote broadcast of the "This Is Taos” show series.
Taos Ski Valley Speaker Series: Anee Ward, Preview Center Ambassador and TSV’s Cultural Liaison, will join Rey in a discussion about the mountain resort's Speaker Series program. This special initiative has the aim of deepening and enhancing an understanding of Taos Ski Valley and the larger community. The program has invited over 40 organizations and individuals who make Taos "Taos." From astronauts, to quartets, and anglers, each week the program is designed to teach a little more about what makes Taos unique, and how to keep it that way.
Taos Tap Room Is Show Venue: Max Davis, Head Brewer of Taos Mesa Brewing, will offer commentary during this part of the show, as the company has graciously offered the use of their Taos Tap Room---located at 201 Paseo Del Pueblo Sur in downtown Taos---as the site for the airing of Sunday’s ATRE program. Max will discuss his role with Taos Mesa Brewing, as well as offer his own perspective on what makes Taos a special place to live, and work.
Broker View on Working in Taos: David Fries, Rey’s Sotheby’s International Realty broker colleague in Santa Fe, will reflect on his own experiences working with home buyer and seller clients in Taos. David found his way to New Mexico over 17 years ago in his early 20s, during a sojourn before graduate school. David learned construction by building two homes from the ground up. For David, Northern New Mexico dug its grip in deep when he first arrived, and he has never left, actually making Taos his home at one point for 10 years.
Rey’s “Real Estate Recommendation”: Rey’s weekly real estate recommendation will offer some suggestions on how to make the home buying and selling process a bit easier, more efficient and enjoyable for consumers. Corresponding to the theme of the special relationship that Santa Fe has with Taos and other Northern New Mexico communities, Rey is offering a 10-acre parcel of land, just nine miles east of Abiquiu, and situated above the Rio Chama, with 360-degree vistas (see the "Unique Destinations" section on
Open House of the Week: Rey will review the attributes of 501 Salazar with his Sotheby’s International Realty broker colleague David Fries. The home offers plastered walls, Saltillo tile and original oak flooring; recently remodeled bathrooms; a master bedroom with walk-in closet; a large front portal and an adobe wall that wraps around the lot; a 400 square foot garage; and a great room with high ceilings, vigas, and a central wood burning fireplace.
