All Things Real Estate - Second Hour: January 7, 2018

All Things Real Estate - January 7, 2018

This weekly radio show features host and Sotheby's International Realty's Associate Broker Rey Post (NM REC License #45660) and a variety of special guests offering the best news, information and commentary regarding every aspect of today's real estate market.
In the first hour of the show, join Rey and his guest co-host, Scott Robinson, Branch Manager of the Santa Fe office of the Gateway Mortgage Group, as they discuss with their fellow guest commentators a variety of real estate issues that are evidencing themselves as we begin the New Year.

Real Estate Brokers Launch Into 2018: Rey will speak to how he and his broker colleagues are assessing the state of the real estate market as 2018 begins. Rey and his fellow brokers are focused on not only bringing their own professional expertise to the home buying and selling process as we start the New Year, but also believe in the importance of collaborating with other real estate and community specialists. Rey will also remind the audience of the important role that the real estate community is playing in the aftermath of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria. As an example of the real estate community’s commitment to providing assistance, the Realogy Charitable Foundation, a 501 © (3) public charity, was established as Hurricane Harvey approached Texas in late August. The foundation is continuing to raise funds, delivering 100 percent of the proceeds to the American Red Cross to directly help those affected by the storm (go to contribute). Realogy is the parent company of Sotheby’s International Realty, Inc.
Gateway Mortgage Group “Home Buyer Tip”: Scott Robinson, Santa Fe Branch Manager at the Gateway Mortgage Group, will offer his own thoughts on the theme ofSunday’s show, including the range of lender-related matters that home buyers need to focus on as we start 2018. Scott will also provide his regular mortgage tip that can benefit home buyers who are purchasing a property in collaboration with a lender. The Gateway Mortgage Group is one of the largest privately held mortgage companies in the country, doing its entire mortgage servicing in-house. This business element is important, since it means that Gateway’s customers work directly with them until the time their loan is paid. Scott Robinson, NMLS 202265, is a licensed Branch Manager with Gateway Mortgage Group, located at 502 West Cordova Road, Suite 1, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87505. All loans are subject to program guidelines and final underwriting approval. Gateway Mortgage Group, LLC is an equal housing lender. NMLS 7233.
2018 Roofing and Home Maintenance Update: John Grisak, President, and Justin Kibbe, Vice President of Fix My Roof, LLC, will provide some observations on the show theme, including why now is the time to give special attention to the condition of your home’s roof. They will also speak in detail to the element of roof restoration that is at the heart of the services offered by Fix My Roof, LLC, to its residential and commercial clients in New Mexico. Fix My Roof, LLC, is committed to restoring existing roofs for a fraction of the cost of roof replacement while maximizing a positive impact on the environment by embracing environmentally responsible practices and educating the greater community about environmental stewardship. Headquartered in Santa Fe, the company has completed both residential and commercial jobs in Santa Fe, Los Alamos, El Dorado, Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Cochiti, Las Cruces, Alamogordo, Silver City, and many more locations.
Open House of the Week: Rey will review the attributes of 506 San Antonio with his Sotheby’s International Realty broker colleague Darlene Streit. This classic Eastside two-story home offers a light-filled layout, three comfortable bedrooms and a lovely outdoor living area. The property is surrounded by mature trees and is located within a short distance to the Santa Fe Plaza.

In the second hour of the show, Jeff Brown, Owner of WIN Home Inspection, and his guests will offer their monthly broadcast, speaking to a variety of home inspection and maintenance issues, as well as the state of the local real estate market. This is Jeff’s inaugural broadcast of 2018, giving him and his guests the opportunity to offer commentary on issues important to consumers as they start the New Year.
Joining Jeff are two guests: MJ Barella, Manager of Operations at GBM Construction/Old World Plaster; as well as Jim Dundon, General Manager of Pella Windows of Albuquerque. Offering his monthly “Home Inspector’s Tip” is Matt Rivera, a professional home inspector and a member of the WIN Home Inspection team. WIN is well known for providing comprehensive, experienced, and professional home inspections, with the goal of helping to make the real estate transaction process go smoothly. Buyers can make an informed decision on the home they are purchasing, as well as planning for upgrades down the road, while sellers who obtain a pre-inspection can often see their listing sell more quickly.
