Paid Summer Internships -

The State of New Mexico has announced paid summer internships for students, youths and young adults to find employment, acquire experience relevant to their field of study, and make a living wage. From Engineering to Public Relations, the internship openings pay from $12.72 to $20.10, based on education level of the intern. The internships will span the summer months and conclude when the student returns to school. There are currently more than a dozen internship openings listed on the State Personnel Office website.

The Northern Area Local Workforce Development Board (NALWDB), through an agreement with the State is also hiring summer interns that will be deployed to departments throughout New Mexico State Government. Currently NALWDB has 29 positions to be filled. Interested applicants should visit the NALWDB’s website to apply or call 505-986-0363.

There is a mix of on-site and virtual positions open. On-site positions will report to offices located in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, or in other regional offices. Education requirements range from High School student to Graduate students and include out of school youth and young adults. Some colleges will provide course credit for internships when the experience is applicable to the intern’s area of study. Students will need to coordinate course credits with their university.
